A place with character

Old stone, new light

Terracotta sits inside a traditional Telavi stone building, carefully renovated to keep its Georgian character while adding every modern comfort. The thick historic walls keep the rooms naturally cool through the warm Kakhetian summer.

Step outside and you are in the middle of everything that matters: the fortress, the old town's cafés and restaurants, small shops and the tourist information centre — all within a few minutes on foot.

The people behind Terracotta

An apartment. A family story.

Terracotta belongs to a German-Georgian family — a historian from Cologne and a Georgian with deep roots in this country. Their life between two cultures is part of what makes staying here different.

A quiet coincidence

The historian and the king across the street

The fortress opposite is bound to King Erekle II — and the historian in our family has spent years researching his era. A small, true story about how history can live right outside your window.

A friend's view of Telavi

“Sometimes you arrive somewhere and sense at once that there is more here than four walls and a bed. Terracotta is such a place — the old stones, the fortress opposite, and the people whose story is bound up with it. It is not a luxury property. It is a piece of lived history, and that is exactly its charm.”
